Destroy Patriarchy is the illustration created by Rosmunda for the cover of the last issue of 2024 of the anarchist weekly magazine Umanità Nova.
The work stems from the artist's profound experience in Calcutta, India, where she collaborated with the association Cup of Color to create community mural projects with women and children in extremely fragile social contexts. Her contact with stories of pain, but also of incredible resilience, fueled a critical reflection on power and oppression, extending also to the Western context and current policies against minorities.
At the center of the composition stands the Goddess Kali, a Hindu deity who embodies the destruction of the enemies of humanity and everything that poisons the world. Here, Kali becomes the symbol of the strength needed to overthrow the patriarchal system: concrete, collective action to protect suffering sisters and new generations.
Through powerful visual language, Rosmunda transforms anger into a manifesto of hope and rebellion, calling for the destruction of oppressive structures in order to build a better world based on self-determination and social justice.
