Blooming in Hope is a participatory art project by Rosmunda, created in Kolkata in collaboration with NGO Cup of Color.
The work was made in one of the city's red-light districts, actively involving the women and children of the local community in the painting process. The mural covers the facade of the building that houses Love Calcutta Arts (LCA), a vital social enterprise committed to bringing dignity and employment to the women of the neighbourhood, offering them a concrete alternative to life on the streets.
Through the language of street art, the project transforms a marginalised space into a symbol of renewal, where the title itself, "Blooming in Hope", evokes the hope that takes root through solidarity and collective action.
